Donna is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. For membership in this prestigious organization, an attorney is rigorously tested and must be recognized by judges and peers as an expert practitioner in the field of family law. Donna has served as Vice President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Illinois Chapter. She also was nominated and elected to the Board of Managers for the Illinois Chapter for multiple three-year terms. Donna has also been selected for many years for membership in the Leading Lawyers Network and she was named one of the 10 Best Attorneys for Illinois by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Donna has also served as an Advisory Member of the Family Law Section Council for the Illinois State Bar Association.

Donna was a partner with a prestigious family law firm until 2003 when she began her own law firm, The Law Offices of Donna R. Farley. With her own firm, Donna is able to provide each client individualized attention that is often not feasible in a large firm. She is well-known for her ability to negotiate even the most difficult cases.

Family law matters should not be addressed identically. Donna provides her clients with a range of options for resolving their disputes. She is an experienced litigator for those disputes that require litigation but she is also a strong proponent for resolving disputes outside of the courtroom. That is why Donna is proud to be a Fellow of the Collaborative Institute of Illinois and the International Academy of Collaborative Practice. She also encourages parties to consider mediation in resolving their divorce or other family law disputes. Donna is a respected mediator in her own right and also encourages her clients to consider the mediation process if mediation appears to be the best option to achieve the client’s goals. Through these alternative forms of dispute resolution, Donna is able to craft and design creative solutions to amicably settle even the most challenging cases. 

Donna has represented countless clients in a wide range of family law issues. Many of her cases contain complex procedural and substantive issues. She has diverse experience in various areas of the law, including personal injury, real estate transactions and contracts as she has been practicing law for more than 30 years.
